WELCOME TO ADPHA UGANDA OFFICIAL WEBSITE!

 WHO WE ARE

The ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES LIVING WITH HIV (ADPHA) UGANDA (formerly known as Masaka Association of Persons with Disabilities living with HIV and AIDS) is an association of Persons with disabilities who have tested positive for HIV or are affected by TB, together with their family members in Uganda. The Association started its operations in 2009 in the districts of Masaka, Kalungu, Lwengo, Bukomansimbi, and Rakai. The Association has  scaled up its activities to include other districts outside its original districts of operations, and to organize other persons with disabilities living with and affected by HIV and TB in these districts to advocate for their rights in all national HIV/AIDS and TB programs in Uganda.  ADPHA-Uganda is arguably the first organized peer-support network of people with disabilities living with HIV and people affected by TB in Uganda.

The Association supports  persons with disabilities living with HIV and affected by TB  to make changes in their lives in many ways. These include  community peer support on access to HIV/TB information and services,  mentoring and coaching leaders to advocate for their rights , livelihoods and emergency support, information sharing  and trainings in prevention of  Gender based violence (GBV) and Sexual reproductive Health rights (SRHR) as stipulated in Convention on the  Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
